Namastey London, Partner and now a box office Welcome that's put Katrina Kaif ahead in the Race to the top.

At least as far as her market price goes, Katrina is being paid Rs six crores for a two-film deal by production house Studio 18. That's Rs three crore per film.
She is getting over a crore for a item number song in the Akshay Kumar starrer Blue. And now even a Yash Raj flick with John Abraham is reportedly paying her Rs three crores.

All this makes Katreena Kaif one of Bollywood's highest paid actresses alongside Kareena Kapoor.



Kareena, who also reportedly charges about Rs three crores a film, has a two-film deal with Studio18 and another three film deal with Ashtavinayak Films that produced Jab We Met.

The Katrina deal according to reports seems to have rattled Kareena and she's raised her price tag to Rs six crore for her next film. But Ashtavinayak Films that's producing the film has denied any such demand. So maybe no one is willing to sign Kareena as yet for that kind of money.

Teenage heartthrob Shahid Kapur is on a roll with two big solo hits under his belt, and that during two consecutive years. Rajshri Production's VIVAH turned out to be one of the biggest hits of 2006 and Shahid's first solo blockbuster. Not content with that, Shahid followed it up with the 32 crore crore, JAB WE MET, which like VIVAH, is one of the biggest hits of last year.



However, despite the two huge hits, Shahid feels that he is not getting his due, as the media seems to be more interested in his personal rather than professional life. He says that though the media is doing its job, a certain section, which believes in sensationalism, has unfairly targeted him. The allegation that his romantic alliance with Kareena persisted till the pair became a hit angers him. He retorts by clarifying that the allegation is unfounded because their previous two films, FIDA (2004) and 36 CHINA TOWN (2006), met with lukewarm response and JAB WE MET became a super hit does not imply that their break up was a publicity gimmick.



A thorough professional, Shahid is ready to complete the patchwork parts of Boney Kapoor's MILENGE MILENGE with Kareena, but no time frame has been allocated for that. However, their fans need not feel bad as there is good news on another front. Shahid is ready to bury the hatchet and work with Kareena in future, if a good offer comes along. But as of now he is busy concentrating on his next two ventures with Vidya Balan, KISMET CONNECTIONS and LUCKY CHARM, which he hopes would turn out to be the biggest hits of the decade!
Well, even we hope that Shahid's LUCKY CHARM works in a big way for the charming, boy next door.

After their split Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor try to avoid each other at public events. But the stars bumped into each other at the Max Stardust Awards. The evening saw the presence of stars like Akshay Kumar, Celina Jaitley, Kangana Ranaut and Vivek Oberoi. But the people drawing most attention were Shahid and Kareena.

Kareena wore a black dress and was seen sitting with Saif Ali Khan's son. Shahid who was also in a black suit was seated just a few seats from her. The two even glanced at each other and exchanged a few smiles. Kareena and Shahid then met backstage, away from the public view. The two then shook hands with each other. However the meeting seemed very formal and lasted for few minutes.

The audience were then treated with a magnificent dance form the numero uno actress of Bollywood. Lover boy Saif was not to be left behind as he also performed to a song from his upcoming movie Race. Shahid off late has been dating Saif's ex girlfriend Rozzaa. The two were even spotted in a five star hotel together.

Kareena Kapoor's ultimate dream is to do a romantic movie with Shah Rukh Khan. The actress can't seem to stop gushing over her favourite actor.

"Very frankly I did the Yeh mera dil song in Don because of Shah Rukh. My ultimate wish is to do a full-on love story with him," said the actress whose latest movie Jab We Met is a box-office hit.

"When Farhan Akhtar offered me the song I wondered if making a guest appearance was right for me. However, the temptation of doing a song with Shah Rukh got the better of me."

Kareena says she is glad she did the song. "It got me tremendous notice. My niece Samaira has become my biggest fan. She dances to the song. And the minute she sees me she starts singing Yeh mera dil pyar ka deewana," said the young Kapoor.

"It's one film I'm truly proud of. I'm looking forward to working with VishalBharadwaj again. He's one of those rare directors who know how to tap into my potential. I need directors like Vishal and Imtiaz Ali of Jab We Met to come forward and give me a chance. That's why I've taken a long break to get my act together. I don't want to look back on my career with any regrets," she said.
